I Forgot About God

On My Way

“It was just another day like all of the others, but

I was not the man that I usually am.

His words were harsh, undeserved,

My reply was quick--too quick.

Why did I say it? It didn’t come from my heart.

A Thought

“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends;

they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors,

and the most patient of teachers.”

                                                    ― Charles William Eliot

Thomas Elliott Barnard M.A., Ed.D.

The Word

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul

and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the

Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:36-38

A Benediction

Heavenly Father, I want to make my spiritual goal today to bring your love and grace to my friends and anyone I know. As I meet suffering friends prompt me to leave your blessing on their lives. I understand this will require my living by love—loving you and loving others.  That will be a challenge, but I know that if I set my heart on it—and with your help—everything else I do will fall into its proper place. May this be so, is my prayer. Amen.
